Pillin’s Walkoff Gives Padua Franciscan Victory Over Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin

A walk-off single led Padua Franciscan past Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin 2-1 on Thursday. The game was tied at one with Padua batting in the bottom of the tenth when Nick Pillin singled to drive in one run.The pitching was strong on both sides. Padua pitchers struck out six, while hurlers for Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin sat down six.The Bruins  took an early lead in the first inning.  Nick Pillin grounded out, scoring one run. Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin knotted the game up at one in the top of the fourth inning.  Henry Neuman earned the win for Padua. He went two innings, allowing zero runs, two hits, and striking out three.  Kristian Abood started the game for Padua tossing six innings, surrendering one run, three hits, and striking out one. Bogi Kazimour led Padua with two hits in five at bats. The Bruins will return to District Play this Monday as they face Holy Name in the District Semi-Final.
