Bruin cross country teams start season on the right foot.

On Saturday morning, the cross country teams opened up their season at the Berkshire Invitational, hosted by Berkshire High School. The boys team finished 24th in the 33 team field while the girls finished 6th in the 26 team field.

The boys team was led by Junior Matthew Bildstein, who finished in a time of 17:54, placing him 27th overall. Junior Robbie Wilson was next across the line, placing 152nd in a time of 20:08. Sophomore Peter Heinzerling (192nd, 20:44), Junior Dominic Roschival (199th, 20:57) and Sophomore Brian Kovacs (209th, 21:07) rounded out the scoring for the Bruins.

The girls team was led by Senior Ashlynn Uzl, who finished 12th overall in a time of 20:30. Senior Kristen Seballos was next across the line for the Bruins, finishing in 21:06 which was good for 25th place. Junior Katie Byram (31st, 21:17), Senior Megan Casselberry (40th, 21:35) and Sophomore Emmalee Clark (104th, 24:06) rounded out the scoring for the Bruins.

The Bruins will return to action on Saturday, September 2nd at the Avon Lake Early Bird Invitational.
