Girls finish 5th and Boys finish 13th; Girls Cross Country advance to Regionals at Bordman

On Saturday, the cross country teams competed at the District Championship Meet hosted at Lorain County Community College.

The boys team finished 13th overall in the 16 team race. The Bruins were led by Junior Matthew Bildstein, who finished 38th overall in a time of 18:00. Junior Robbie Wilson was next for the Bruins, finishing in 58th place in a time of 18:51. Freshman Cam Spacht (61st, 19:02) Sophomore Peter Heinzerling (95th, 20:55) and Junior Dominic Roschival (99th, 21:06) rounded out the scoring for the Bruins. Sophomore Brian Kovacs (107th, 21:46) and Sophomore Chris Zimerla (DNF) also competed for the Bruins.

The girls team finished 5th overall in the 17 team race, qualifying the girls team to the regional meet for the 7th consecutive season. Senior Kristen Seballos led the way for Bruins, finishing 11th overall in a time of 20:45. Senior Ashlynn Uzl was next for the Bruins, finishing 23rd overall in a time of 21:24. Senior Megan Casselberry (24th, 21:34) Junior Katie Byram (26th, 21:38) and Sophomore Emmalee Clark (46th, 22:19) rounded out the scoring for the Bruins. Sophomore Colleen Doucette (83rd, 24:26) and Sophomore Maria Rich (100th, 25:39) also competed for the Bruins.

The girls cross country team will be competing at the Regional Championship Meet, hosted at Boardman High School, on Saturday, October 28th.
