Girls Victorious and Reclaim Title, Boys Finish 8th at Avon Lake Early Bird Invitational

On Saturday, the Bruin cross country teams toed the line at the Avon Lake Early Bird Invitational. The girls team emerged victorious in a 12 team field while the boys team finished in 8th place in a 16 team field.

 

The girls team was led by Senior Ashlynn Uzl, who used a strong finishing kick to take home the individual victory in a time of 20:15. Junior Sydney Jenko, making her season debut, ran an impressive personal best time of 20:26 which garnered her a 3rd place finish. Junior Katie Byram (4th, 20:44) Senior Kristen Seballos (5th, 20:48) and Senior Megan Casselberry (7th, 20:56) rounded out the scoring for the Bruins.

 

The boys team was led by Junior Matthew Bildstein, who ran a season best time of 17:43, finished in 11th place. Junior Robbie Wilson was next across the line for the Bruins, running a personal best time of 19:17 and finishing in 40th place. Junior Dominic Roschival (62nd, 20:06) Sophomore Peter Heinzerling (70th, 20:17) and Freshman Cameron Spacht (75th, 20:35) rounded out the scoring for the Bruins.
