After the first day of the OHSAA State Wrestling Tournament, Senior Pete Abraham was the lone wolf for the Padua Franciscan Wrestling Team and he didnt not want to go home disappointed in his performance. Pete started off the day by defeating the Alliance District Champion in a close 2-1 Contest. With that Victory it guaranteed Pete a spot on the 195 Podium, we just didnt know what place he would be on the final day. Pete’s next opponent was Stone Day and it was once again a hard fought battle but this time Pete could not get the victory. He would still move onto to Saturday and he would be fighting for 3rd Place finish. On the last day of his career as a Padua Franciscan Wrestler, Pete wanted to make a statement and show the entire State of Ohio what it means to be a Padua Wrestler coached by Padua Alum Dave Morell ’80. His first match of the day went very quickly and he pinned his opponent with in 29 seconds of the 1st whistle! Pete unfortunately fell to the Mansifeld District Champion in a battle which Pete left everything on the Mat. Senior Pete Abraham finished 4th in the State of Ohio in the 195 Pound Weight Class.
