Multiple Teams · Bruins claim early lead and run past Woodridge

The 2017-2018 Football Season started on Friday Night and with many teams hoping for to start off their Season with a win, the Bruins were hoping for a win and an upset vs a Tough and seasoned Woodridge Squad. When the clock hit 0:00 in the 4th Quarter, the Padua Football team did just that and upset #23 ranked Woodridge High School 47-21.

The Bruins were led by Senior Trent Cramer who had carried the ball for 294 yards and had three TD’s on the evening. Padua got out to an early lead thanks to a 74 yard Pass from Kevin Peterson to Jordan Walker and a Dominic Buttazzoni Field Goal. This was all the Bruins needed to seal the victory.  After these points, the Bruins just kept running and running till the game was over.  With the Victory, the Bruins are 1-0 going into Week 2 where they will welcome, Cross-Town Rival Holy Name on Friday September 1st with Kickoff happening at 7:00 pm. Gates will open at 5:30 pm for this contest which will be held at Padua Franciscan High School.
