Boys Varsity Swimming, Girls Varsity Swimming · Cohagan Punches Ticket to States in 100 Free;

On Friday, Members of the Padua Swim Team represented Padua in the 2021 District Meet and Below are the recaps for each Gender:

Girls: Charlotte Cohagan competed in the 50 and 100 individual freestyle events. Charlotte placed 6th in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.85 which is a new school record for this event. She also placed 6th in the 100 freestyle with a time of 54.85 which has her competing at states this week. The 400 freestyle relay consisting of Charlotte Cohagan, Libby Ranker, Camryn Fittro and Gabby Schrantz placed 16th in the Northeast District with a time of 4:06.15 which is 5.21 seconds faster than their entry time.

Boys: The 200 freestyle relay consisting of Chris Oancea , Dominic Arcuri, Bobby Wirtz and Logan Nance dropped 1.57 seconds finishing 17th in the Northeast District with a time of 1:39.70. The same team also competed in the 400 freestyle relay and placed 17th as well with a time of 3:45.04 which is 5.81 seconds faster than their entry time.

This will be the first time since 2010 that a Female is represented by Padua Franciscan High School  in the OHSAA State Meet as Kelcie Mehwald went down for diving. In 2008, Brittany Krauth went down to States in both the 100 Butterfly and 100 Free which is the same event as current State Qualifier Charlotte Cohagan.  Charlotte will be swimming on Wednesday Afternoon at Canton.
