The Girls Basketball lost to Archbishop Hoban 53-46 on Saturday in a physical battle to finish their season as the OHSAA District Runner-up for the fifth time in school history. The Bruins trailed by 11 points in the second quarter and 10 points in the third before storming back to tie the Knights with 3 minutes left in the game. Hoban, ranked #2 in Division 3 in Ohio, responded with a three point field goal on their next possession and closed out the game in the final minutes.
The Bruins were led by
Izzy Lapp with 14 points, 9 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks.
Ella Figliano added 9 points with other contributions coming from
Sophie Spade (7 points & 6 assists),
Darlene Jaidah (7 points & 6 rebounds) and
Ally Tonsing (5 points & 13 rebounds).
Padua finishes the season with a 15-9 record which is 11th in school history for wins in a season.
