The Softball team defeated NDCL 11-7 on Tuesday to advance to the OHSAA District Championship game. The Bruins used two big innings to take the lead and held on for the victory.
Padua scored 8 runs in the bottom of the second inning with
Marissa Noll opening the scoring on a RBI single to center field.
Samantha Ezzie added an RBI single and
Julia Ezzie hit a bases clearing triple in the 2nd inning to give the Bruins an 8-0 early lead. After NDCL cut the lead to 8-4 in the fourth inning,
Claire Mooney hit a big three run home run in the bottom of the fifth to give the Bruins an 11-4 lead after five innings.
Annabelle Shuman and Alex Camarati combined for the victory on the mound.
The Bruins advance to Thursday's District Championship game against Archbishop Hoban at Norwayne HS at 5pm.
