The Track & Field team finished the OHSAA Division 1 District meet at Brunswick on Friday with some strong performances and regional qualifiers!
Roderick Love had a great day on the track winning the 100m & 200m dashes to qualify for next week's Regional meet. Love started the night winning the 100m with a record breaking time of 10.47 seconds! Love's time broke the District meet record set back in 1990 and Padua's record set in 1994 by Hall of Famer and State Champion JT Szopo. Love capped off the night winning the 200m with a time of 21.74 seconds, just missing another school record. Â
Jenna Manson competed earlier in the day and qualified for Regionals in both of her field events: Discus & Shot Put. Manson started with the Shot Put and finished in 3rd place with a personal best throw of 36-3.5, then finished in 3rd place in Discus with a throw of 113-8.Â
Darlene Jaidah qualified in the 100m dash with a 3rd place finish in a highly competitive final. Jaidah ran 12.65 edging out a few runners by .04 seconds to earn her trip to Regionals.Â
Allie Krayzel also qualified in the 800m run with a 4th place finish and personal best time of 2:19.10!!
The OHSAA Regional Track & Field meet starts on Wednesday at Port Clinton True-Lay Stadium and finishes next Friday. Â
