The Bruins Cross Country Team started the season on the right foot Saturday with the Girls team finishing in first place, scoring 46 points and the Boys team finishing in 6th place.  The Girls team was led by Senior Captain Allison Krayzel who led wire-to-wire, winning the race in a time of 20:22. Junior Briley Poplyk was next across the line for the Bruins, finishing in 7th place with a time of 21:55. Sophomore Arianna Codispoti (9th, 22:00), Sophomore Violet Eiskamp (14th, 22:48), and Freshman Helena Misso (15th, 22:55) rounded out the scoring for the Bruins. Senior David Norton led the way for the Boys team, covering the 5k course in a time of 18:41, which was good for 23rd overall. Sophomore Ian Ketvertis was next across the line for the Bruins, finishing in 25th place with a time of 19:01. Freshman Colin Becker (37th, 19:23), Junior Matt Golias (45th, 19:32), and Freshman Bryson Barther (59th, 20:29) rounded out the scoring for the Bruins. Complete meet results can be found here.

The Bruins will return to action on Saturday at the Avon Lake Earlybird Invitational, hosted at Lorain County Community College.
