The Freshman Baseball Team defeated Holy Name 9-6 thanks to a strong start. Padua scored on a single by Lance Pickel and a single by Aiden Hahn in the second inning.
Both offenses were strong at the plate as the Freshman collected six hits and Holy Name six in the high-scoring affair.
The Bruins pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second Pickel singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run and Hahn singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Padua tallied four runs in the sixth inning. Joseph Zver, Pickel, David Jakubiec, and Hahn all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
Pickel took the win for the Freshman Squad. The pitcher lasted five innings, allowing two hits and two runs while striking out eight. Zver and Nicholas Hofener entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Pickel led the Bruins with two hits in three at bats. Yuri Bellina led Padua with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with six stolen bases.
