Saturday at the OHSAA Regional Championship Meet proved to be a historic day for the girls cross country program. Freshman Briley Poplyk finished in 23rd place, running a personal best time of 19:54 and qualified to run in next weekend's OHSAA State Championship Meet! The girls as a team finished in 17th place, scoring 388 points. Sophomore Allie Krayzel crossed the finish line in 33rd place with a time of 20:21. Sophomore Samantha So (126th, 23:14) Senior Val Harris (135th, 23:36) and Sophomore Kaylee Egnaczyk (142nd, 24:01) rounded out the scoring for the Bruins. Sophomore Amanda Ocilka (149th, 25:02) and Freshman Wen Li Hild (152nd, 25:35) rounded out the varsity 7 for the Bruins.Â
Poplyk will run in next Saturday's OHSAA State Cross Country meet at the Fortress Obetz and Memorial Park in Columbus.
