Girls finish runner-up at Avon Lake Earlybird Invitational
The girls cross country team continued their season at the Avon Lake Earlybird Invitational on Saturday. The girls finished 2nd in a 10 team field, scoring 63 points. Freshman Briley Poplyk led the way for the Bruins, finishing in 4th place with a time of 22:14. Sophomore Allie Krayzel was next across the line, finishing in 7th place with a time of 23:10. Sophomore Leah Panteck (12th, 23:39) Senior Valerie Harris (15th, 23:54) and Sophomore Kaylee Egnaczyk (25th, 24:55) rounded out the scoring for the Bruins.Â
Boys finish 7th at Avon Lake Earlybird Invitational
The boys cross country team also continued their season at the Avon Lake Earlybird Invitational. The boys finished 7th in a 13 team field, scoring 184 points Senior Michael Cain led the way for the boys, finishing in 13th place with a time of 19:10. Freshman Logan Russell was next across the line for the Bruins, finishing in 21st place with a time of 19:53, which set a new personal best for Logan. Sophomore Lucas Pickel (48th, 21:48) Sophomore Brendan Dziedzicki (52nd, 22:08) and Freshman Kye Hild (57th, 22:23) rounded out the scoring for the Bruins.Â
The Cross Country teams return to action next weekend when they travel to Wooster HS for the Wooster Invitational.Â
