The Padua Football team battled Lutheran West and the weather last night but came away with a 28-0 victory over the Longhorns. The Bruins improve to 2-1 on the season with the victory.
The Bruins scored later in the first quarter on a 37 yard field goal by
Caleb Zolkowski then added another field goal by Zolkowski during the second quarter for a 6-0 lead. Then, Padua reached the endzone just before halftime on a
Nick Barker 2 yard touchdown run to give the Bruins a 13-0 lead at halftime. Barker rushed for another touchdown in the third quarter to give the Bruins a 21-0 lead heading into the fourth quarter, when Connor Williams sealed the victory with a 55 yard interception return for a touchdown.
The Bruins return to action next Friday when they travel to Sandusky to take on the Blue Streaks.
