Girls Basketball defeats Magnificat in home opener

The Girls Basketball team defeated Magnificat 60-56 in their home opener on Wednesday to improve to 4-0 on the season.

The Bruins had a balanced scoring attack to get an early lead and never trailed in the game. Sophia Spade led the way with 16 points including some clutch free throws to close out the victory, plus 5 assists and 3 steals.

Other key contributors in the win:

Darlene Jaidah - 14 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals
Ella Figliano - 12 points including 2 big three pointers in the fourth quarter
Izzy Lapp - 10 points, 5 rebounds
Ally Tonsing - 6 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, 2 blocks

Padua returns to action next Wednesday when they host Gilmour Academy.
