The Gymnastics team finished in 4th place at the OHSAA District meet at Hudson on Saturday and just missed out on qualifying as a team for the State meet next weekend. The Bruins had their best team score of the season (138.2 points) against a deep field of teams and competitors at the District meet.
Tessa Brousek will look to defend her state title next weekend as she qualified in all individual events & the All-Around competition. Brousek won the All-Around event and also won on the Balance Beam. She also finished 2nd on the Vault, 5th on the Floor Exercise and 10th on the Uneven Bars. Lexi Bryan will join Brousek in Columbus next weekend as she finished 7th on the Balance Beam to qualify for the state meet. Brousek & L.Bryan were named to the All-District team and earned All-Academic honors with a 3.7 GPA and higher.
Julia Malcuit was also honored with the Sportsmanship Award at the District meet.
Brousek & L.Bryan will compete next Sunday in the OHSAA State meet at Hilliard Bradley High School in Columbus.
