The Boys Basketball team upset the #7 seed Cleveland Central Catholic in the OHSAA Sectional tournament 54-42 to advance to next week's District tournament. The Bruins jumped out to big lead in the first half then the Ironmen cut the deficit to four points heading into the fourth quarter. Padua responded by scoring 18 points in the fourth, including 2 big three point field goals by
Riley Cervenka to close out the game and the victory.
Cervenka led the Bruins with 19 points with
Jack Boswell adding 12 points. The Bruins also got key contributions off the bench from Anthony Minite Jr (9 points) and
Conner Williams (6 points).
Padua returns to action on Wednesday when they travel to Gilmour Academy to take on the Lancers in the OHSAA District tournament.
