On Saturday, the girls cross country team competed at the OHSAA District Championship Meet, hosted at Lorain County Community College. Paced by Sophomore Allie Krayzel and Freshman Briley Poplyk, the girls team finished in 7th place, scoring 217 points. This will be the first time the girls team will have qualified for the OHSAA Regional Championship meet since 2017. Sophomore Allie Krayzel led the way, finishing in 13th place with a time of 20:40. Freshman Briley Poplyk was next across the line, finishing in 20th place with a time of 21:24. Freshman Samantha So (47th, 22:59) Sophomore Kaylee Egnaczyk (70th, 24:07) and Senior Valerie Harris (74th, 24:21) rounded out the scoring for the Bruins. Sophomore Amanda Ocilka (83rd, 25:24) and Freshman Wen Li Hild (93rd, 25:51) rounded out the varsity 7 for the Bruins. The girls team will compete this Saturday at the OHSAA Regional Championship Meet, hosted by Boardman High School.
