The Baseball team defeated Walsh Jesuit 7-5 on Tuesday in a back and forth game during the late innings. The win improved Padua's record to 7-5 on the season.
The game was scoreless going into the sixth inning when the Bruins took the lead 1-0 when
Bryden Spellacy was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. The Warriors responded in the bottom of the sixth inning with 4 runs and took a 4-1 lead into the top of the seventh inning. Padua came back and retook the lead with 6 runs on a sacrifice fly by
Spencer Siedlecki, bases loaded walks by
Braylon Benson and
Logan Schnell and a two run single by
Riley Ziemba to get the victory.
Lucas Palange earned the victory with an outstanding, complete game performance on the mound. Palange allowed just 1 earned run with 5 hits and had 6 strikeouts over 7 innings.
Padua returns to action on Thursday when they host Medina Highland.
