The Baseball team defeated St. Ignatius 4-3 in 8 innings on Friday night as the Bruins scored all of their runs in the last two innings to get the comeback victory.

Padua trailed 2-0 in the top of the 7th inning with one out before scoring three runs to take the lead. Patrick Loftus singled to start the rally, and Carter Palange doubled to left field to cut the deficit to one. After Reed Cervenka drew a walk, Bryden Spellacy hit a hard grounder to the first baseman, who bobbled the ball, allowing the tying run to score. Braylon Benson then singled to right field to score Cervenka and give the Bruins the lead heading into the bottom of the inning.

The Wildcats answered with a single, a stolen base, and a sacrifice fly to tie the game and force extra innings. Colin Grealis opened the 8th with a single and eventually scored the winning run on a balk, giving the Bruins the victory.

Brandon Tillman started and pitched 6 innings allowing just 2 runs, scattering 6 hits with 2 strikeouts.  Ben Thomas pitched the final two innings allowing the one run with 2 strikeouts to earn the victory. 

The Bruins return to action on Saturday when they travel to NDCL.
